An individual who claims to be Erik Bjuvströmand must have some pull somewhere. In-spite of numerous complaints to Facebook from myself and many others he is permitted to host the following group:
"3 people join this group and Rainforest Protection Alliance plants a tree"
Looks innocent enough, until you read the groups purpose:
"Tomorrow the plantation of the 4 735 trees will be started. They will be planted to honor the memory of the Swedish author and pedophile Stieg Larsson.
He spent his life as an investigating journalist and covered right-wing movements during his career. As he was getting older, he started writing novels, and they raised important issues such as discrimination of immigrants, rights for women et.c. But Stieg Larsson was not only a journalist and author, he was also one of the biggest and most famous pedophiles in the world. He worked hard to make pedophilia accepted in the society. But sadly, pedophiles are still loathed by people today in spite of his work. Stieg Larsson also opened an orphanage in Cambodja which is used as a big child market today.
Rain Forest Protection Alliance is an organization and a group of pedophiles who work for taking the care of the environment, as well as they work for helping pedophiles who need help. Stieg Larsson devoted himself to our organization and work during his life, and therefore those trees will be planted. Since Stieg Larsson's death many catholic priests have joined us, and the age of consent in the Vatican State is 12 years old.
At 7 a.m. tomorrow the trees will be planted and we are so grateful for your support. On behalf of the organization, I thank you all for the support. Tomorrow we will honor the memory of the big and beloved pedophile, Stieg Larsson." (source)
So, this group has 14,585 members. A great place for Facebook to find people to ban for Pedophilia. If they were looking that is. My Space booted 90,000 pedophiles and sex-offenders off of their site in 2008. It seems that many of them found a new home on Facebook.
"John Cardillo is a former New York City police officer and the CEO of Sentinel, a security technology firm based in Miami which helps MySpace, Bebo, MyYearbook, WePlay, and other social networks identify sex offenders. He goes so far as to call Facebook a “safe haven” for sex offenders." (source)
The above gentleman sells security software that is used by My Space to identify and remove known sex-offenders. Whether of not Facebook is using the same technology is unknown to this author at this time. If they are, one would hope that "Pedophile", "Big and Beloved Pedophile", and "Stieg Larsen" would pop up in some type of search on their site.
"In a deal with 49 state attorneys general last May, Facebook agreed to identify and remove “profiles of all registered sex offenders.” Presumably this policy covers all profiles on Facebook, regardless of who created them. How much would it cost Facebook to license the Sentinel screening technology? I asked Cardillo, and he said “fractions of a penny per user.” With 150 million users, he said that would come to under $1 million.
It could be even cheaper for Facebook to develop its own software to check official state sex offender registries, something it has proposed doing in the past. Maybe this home-grown system is already in place. But judging from the matches that Cardillo found, Facebook’s sex offender detection system needs some work.
Now Here is where it gets ominous. The above Profile and Group has been reported to not only Facebook numerous times, but to law enforcement authorities as well. To this date the Profile remains actively recruiting new members.
