When Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum were murdered at Carthage Illinois, Brigham Young and other Church leaders blamed the Masons. A little known historical fact is that Joseph Smith had entered the Presidential race. (Source) It was feared he would draw enough votes in Illinois to effect the outcome of the election. In fact, there was a political gathering on this very subject in the few days before his assassination.
The City of Nauvoo had a Masonic Lodge (one of the few buildings that wasn't burned to the ground by the mob). Joseph Smith was an honorary member. His brother and Father had been members since their days in New York. In fact, most of the leading men in the Church were Masons during the Nauvoo period. Joseph Smith, recognizing that he was dealing with a Masonic mob at the time of his murder exclaimed, "Oh Lord my God...", the masonic distress signal, at the time of his death.
Regardless, when the Mormons moved out West to Utah, Brigham Young banned Church members from becoming Freemasons. Masonic lodges were established by Church outsiders and the disaffected in Utah. In fact, these lodges were a hotbed for anti-Mormon fervor and activities. Utah lodges banned Mormons from membership until 1984.
In Bruce R McConkie's masterpiece, "Mormon Doctrine", the Apostle defined Free-masonry as a "Secret Society", and counseled members of the Church against joining it. To this day, no official proclamation exists within the Mormon Church that reverses this policy.
All this raises the question: "Why does the wealthiest Mormon family in Utah finance Free-Masonry in Utah?". The Eccles family has made significant financial contributions, totalling hundreds of thousands of dollars, to Free-Masonry through the Scottish Rite Foundation of Utah. (Source)
Masonry is the organization used by the Illuminati to further the works of their conspiracy. In fact the highest degrees in the Scottish Rite are reserved for the leading Satanic Psychopaths. Albert Pike was a the founder of the "Scottish Rite" in America. He was also the leader of the (anti-Mormon) Ku-Klux-Klan and a sworn Luciferian. Stated Pike:
"The Masonic religion should be, by all of us initiates of the high degrees, maintained in the purity of the Luciferian doctrine. . . Yes, Lucifer is God, and unfortunately Adonay (Jesus) is also God. Pike is also know for the "Illuminati Roadmap to World Conquest":
"Albert Pike's plan for the Illuminati was as simple as it has proved effective. He required that Communism, Naziism, Political Zionism, and other International movements be organized and used to foment the three global wars and three major revolutions. The First World War was to be fought so as to enable the Illuminati to overthrow the powers of the Tzars in Russia and turn that country into the stronghold of Atheistic-Communism. The differences stirred up by agentur of the Illuminati between the British and German Empires were to be used to foment this war. World War Three is to be fomented by using the differences the agentur of the Illuminati stir up between Political Zionists and the leaders of the Moslem world. The war is to be directed in such a manner that Islam (the Arab World including Mohammedanism) and Political Zionism (including the State of Israel) will destroy themselves while at the same time the remaining nations, once more divided against each other on this issue, will be forced to fight themselves into a state of complete exhaustion physically, mentally, spiritually and economically. Can any unbiased and reasoning person deny that the intrigue now going on in the Near, Middle, and Far East is designed to accomplish this devilish purpose?

The Scottish Rite, in Pike's mind, was to play the leading role in America to bring these conflicts about and to bring souls to Lucifer. Mormons should be outraged that families like the Eccles are leading supporters of this movement in Free-Masonry. The Mormon Church cannot continue to allign itself with those, like the Eccles family, that pursue the Luciferian Agenda. In fact, it is forbidden by their own scriptures:
18 And it came to pass that they formed a secret combination, even as they of old; which combination is most abominable and wicked above all, in the sight of God;
19 For the Lord worketh not in secret combinations, neither doth he will that man should shed blood, but in all things hath forbidden it, from the beginning of man.

22 And whatsoever nation shall uphold such secret combinations, to get power and gain, until they shall spread over the nation, behold, they shall be destroyed; for the Lord will not suffer that the blood of his saints, which shall be shed by them, shall always cry unto him from the ground for vengeance upon them and yet he avenge them not.
